Made by Pentair under the Everpure brand, it combines particulate and chlorine taste reduction with active scale inhibition in one unit, and is available in single and dual-cartridge formats to suit low and high-flow equipment.
In the dual-cartridge Kleensteam II configuration, the 7CB5 filtration cartridge handles sediment and chlorine reduction, while the SS-10 cartridge delivers Hydroblend scale-inhibition media that keeps hardness minerals in suspension instead of letting them bake onto elements.
Why scale is so expensive in steam equipment
Scale on a heating element acts as insulation. Even a thin layer increases energy consumption, lengthens cycle times and pushes elements towards burnout. On steam-jacketed kettles and combi ovens, scale also blocks jets and sensors, which shows up as uneven cooking and nuisance error codes long before the equipment actually fails.
