Sugarhive Coffee Shops, Riyadh
Water engineered for espresso: a compact multi-stage system that protects the machines and keeps every cup consistent, at up to 750 litres per hour.

Project overview
Sugarhive is a speciality cafe in Riyadh focused on delivering high-quality coffee. Consistent water quality was critical, both to protect the espresso equipment and to hold the flavour standard across every drink on the menu.
Key challenges
- Poor taste and odour in the incoming water affecting coffee flavour
- High hardness and mineral content causing scale build-up
- Frequent equipment maintenance driven by limescale
- A compact footprint suitable for a coffee-focused operation
Solution implemented
- Sediment filtration for particle removal
- Activated carbon for chlorine, taste and odour control
- Water softening to reduce scale-forming minerals
- Reverse osmosis for controlled mineral and TDS reduction
- System capacity of 500 to 750 litres per hour
The outcome
Stable extraction and a consistent flavour profile across the menu, espresso machines protected from scale, and far fewer descaling interventions, exactly what a speciality operation needs from its water.
